    Hot Water from your engine?

I never thought of using a heat exchanger for veg oil! Thanks guys I'll have a look through the veg oil threads now. I tried it in an old engine and thought it may have caused piston ring failure. Might give it another look though. Cheers Steve

    Hot Water from your engine?

Yeah I thought it was a bit pricey, but dont know how much heat exchangers are to buy or where to get them from.

    Hot Water from your engine?

I posted a thread about heated washer water a few days ago, but while looking on Fleebay for local parts I came across this, which is a bit more than just for hot washer water! It supposedly provides hot water for showers and washing while in the wild. Land Rover Hot Water System, Defender...

    General or Insas?

Hi, I've got General AT2's on mine and they are well over 18k miles and still have a good bit of tread on them. They also have ridges in the base of the treads and reading other posts about them this helps in snow etc. The down side is that they dont seemt to offer them in 235/70 R16 anymore...

Windscreen washer heater - Anyone tried this?

Thanks Mr Noisy, Like your heater pipe, but if it doesnt really do the job then probably not worth the effort. I might look for some heated jets at some point. The RR ones are bonnet mounted I noticed so it'll need a bit of fiddling. In the mean time got the results of an MOT failure to sort...

    abs scare

I get excatly the same thing. Only happens when pulling up to junctions and the ABS kicks in so on you go! Id give the ABS sensors on the front wheels a tap with a hammer (turn the wheels full lock and reach round to feel for the two wires going into the sensor) Give it a gentle tap.

    Window Rubbers

Just a thought, try a windscreen company, they must need new seals when they take broken glass out where the seals had it?

Windscreen washer heater - Anyone tried this?

Where's the fun in that ;) Anyway, if I plumb a pipe round the exhaust I'll put a tap on the end to make tea with? No sense doing half a job

Lean out the window and spray anti freeze? The saying with **** and wind in has to be considered though ;)

Windscreen washer heater - Anyone tried this?

Just had a look on RAVE and the classic had heated jets, with a thermostat by a headlight. I've got a heated screen too, but not much good when your jets freeze! I was up in Glasgow 2 years ago at xmas and even with premixed decent washer solution both windscereen and headlight washer froze...

Windscreen washer heater - Anyone tried this?

Good idea to splice the copper pipe in Daz, if I can find my torch i might solder the coiled pipe to it. I reckon 15mm pipe for the heater pipe? I reckon using the exhaust idea would be ok as a looped circuit into the washer bottle somehow....? Id be a bit concerned it might steam cleam my...

Windscreen washer heater - Anyone tried this?

A bit of micro bore tube might work then? Ive got an old intercooler top hose to wrap round it. The feed to the heaters probably the easiest to wrap it round i guess.

    300Tdi Crankcase Ventilation Valve

I eneded up disconnecting the feed from the cyclone breather to inlet hose, and put an empty coke can on the outlet from the breather lol. Worked a treat. Only just taken it off for the MOT today, thought the tester might think thats really taking the ****! (the fail ist was long enough anyway...
