It makes no difference, I have tried it both ways.
The more I read about it all the more I think it needs a new carb, but I have yet to change the plug.
Modern petrol seems to play absolute total havoc with carbs, well small ones, and even carb...
I had the opposite on a 2stroke. Idled but stalled when you tried to rev...
First thing I did was pul the carb... Took it apart, cleaned it all nice, checked gaskets were seated nicely, cleaned needle etc etc... problem remained.
So I looked...
As the former owner of a 110 and a td5( long wheel base) and now a series 2a, this doesn't just " strike a chord" it strikes too many to mention 😉!!!¡¡¡
FREELANDERS RULE.
My Freelander is the bestist and has:
Leffer heated comfortable seats.
Comfortable suspension.
Enough power to accelerate 0 to 60mph in 10 seconds.
Brakes that actually work. 67 to 0mph in 4 seconds.
Space for 4 passengers to...
Thank you for this nugget, it fixed my loose mirrors too - did not realise the power fold even existed...
However... I tried it a couple of times and then they locked right in 🫣 and it's all changing to smart motorways where I am so driving down...
I replaced my stereo/radio for a Bluetooth version with a hands free remote that goes on the steering wheel. Like you, impossible to find a modern one that matches the old sockets these days so I just got a stereo that I liked and then bought an...
Hi, had a quick look at the window switch you sent back & as you can see from the pic the contacts are a bit burnt :) but nothing a clean won't fix so as suggested it would be worth checking your heated seat switch, all the best.
You can still make the reg out 🤨
The £300 shower covers are a gimmick tbh
I have had 3 , I still have one “ mint in original packaging never opened “
One i sold never tried and the other sold but did try it and the time it takes you to put on...
With my beloved 2005 5dr TD4 now getting a bit long in the tooth I've realised that I want to keep it forever, but maybe just save it for the weekend and get it in top fettle without wearing it out as a daily driver. Now I've always fancied a...
Brought one home (after a 20 year break, from a 50th, not from a FL1)
I've had an 98 XDi 3dr in rioja L series, a 99 50th 3dr L-series (ex-duckworths demo), a kalahari TD4...
The 50th will keep my td5 company, but i'm tempted to just put it in...
I work around the SDR by not fixing broken bits I can live with.
The SDR monitors that there are broken bits and therefore waits for them to be fixed before breaking the next bits.
So I never have any serious problems with my Freelander ;)
Fitted a new aftermarket MAF officially 100% sorting the Freelander in this particular moment in time. EVERYTHING WORKS! recon VCU, recon injectors, new heated screen, aircon, new brake lines, new tyres, new bushes, aftermarket parking sensors...
No no no..... This is all wrong... You've broken your Freelander 😭
The engineering on these includes a very important feature - the SDR (Self Destruction Regulator). This module ensures that as soon as anything is fixed, something else breaks...
Well the freebie got through the MOT... Only comment from the mechanic was that after he had dug through all the mud underneath, he discovered some very light corrosion of the sub frame.
Wasn't a problem but I asked him how best to prevent it...
Hi Andy, thanks again for the offer, I've checked the connectors and they look exactly the same, I'll try and DM you in a mo and we can sort the postage if that's ok 👍
Many thanks for the advice, I'll give that a go for sure 😁
Hi, no heated seat switches I'm afraid. If you go to any of the LR spares days there's a good chance of finding them there. Also at the Billing LR show, June 29th & 30th there's normally a stall there that has FL1 parts only (just about) so could...
Just regarding the heated seat button, my passenger side one wasn't working when I got my Freelander.
I was in the same situation as you, none available anywhere so I tried just taking it apart and giving it a good clean (it was covered in...
