Well I have accepted his offer. He is hoping to collect it either later today - or Saturday. Strange that this should happen today when it is my birthday tomorrow!!
I could weep.
I now realise just how much I love it and I need to look to getting another one as soon as I can.
Thank you so...

@skires - rest of car is sound. The only thing I am nervous about is that it has been sat on the side of the road for a while and actually remembered that as a result the battery is flat too.
With it not being used for a few months, I am worried about the unknown and unseen things.
Ideally I...

It needs a bit of welding. the speedo is not working properly. One Front lens needs replacing and probably a few other bits and pieces to get it through the mot. At least one new tyre.
I haven't got the money to do it and can't do it myself but I know that I will have the money soon - question...

I love my land rover and it grieves me to say that it has been off the road for a while. Someone has made me an offer and I can't make up my mind whether it is worth accepting or not.
I know that it needs work on it but is it worth me doing it or selling to someone who is willing to do it up...

this is all worth knowing and thank you for your suggestions.
I have to go through all my accounts for the last two years to get the running history - but the garage have said that they will look at it and see what they can do. So, will wait and see what happens.

Am absolutely not going to post a photo now! I might be offended!! :(
It seems that the squeal has stopped squealing - bit of magic happened there I think.
I have confronted the garage about the recurring problems and they have promised to look into it.
The only thing is - could do with...

Yes you are absolutely right - I just got carried away with thinking that it could be possible to solve at least some of the basic problems myself. And if there is a major global disaster and we are out in the wilds having to survive - then I can weild my socket wrench like any good fella!!
You...

WHooaaa thebiglad - you are talking to a girly here. And whilst I have been known to wield a large strimmer, or man-size hammer drill, and have a go at wiring, plumbing and proper DIY - I aint been that handy with mechanics.
Yes that is fine - IF you know what you are doing
OK - that bit SOUNDS...

I am glad that someone agrees that things don't add up.
I am very aware that the RAC man potentially had a vested interest as he was saying I needed to go to a garage in the next town. He could have just been helpful but who knows what tips and benefits he gets for introducing new customers...

The bolt sheared off when I had just picked the car up again having complained about the squeal - they supposedly slapped it with some belt conditioner. The bolt went while I was going round a very large and VERY busy roundabout off the motorway. Everything went - steering and power everything...

Great replies guys - just need to decipher it all and try to work out how I can get this to work.
Heard of the penny trick before - quite happy to try that one.
Thanks Batenberg - got any step by step instructions? I have done many practical things in life from hanging doors, plumbing in new...
