Thanks both, I took the header liner down yesterday, and removed the RF receiver. Its earth contact is grimy so I'm going to clean it up with wire wool first to see if that does any good. If not, I'll buy a new RF receiver.

I ultimately got the windscreen company to come back and remedy the mess they left. They sent a different fitter who had both pillar trims on properly in five minutes. There is clearly a knack it. And, this has totally cured water ingress.
