Wont it work via Bluetooth? Was yours switched on? I would assume at that age Bluetooth would be possible although don't know for sure.

We have an Invery dongle thing(in our 2011) so no wires needed but we are apple. but worth a look on their site. But it doesnt use the car screen. @Blob did a thing to the head unit (wasnt cheap) I would have thought the 2017 was better but...

It appears not guys I've ordered a cheap dongle from e Bay to see how I go .... but I'd of certainly thought there was no need to use a cable in this model , but hey what do I know ... very little generally 😉

Yes android auto works with the cable hut when I take the cable out the android auto doesn't work ... I'm trying to negate the need for a cable ....
