I have a feeling its for a rubber bung/bolt. On the 200tdi the cambelt is enclosed in a water tight alloy box. Is that what your refering too? Im not 100% sure though!!

sorry when i say blend motor I mean the directional one, not temp control

I think there is a blend motor that alters the air flow direction. They are prone to failure im told! Dash out repair i think!
