    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

My issue was the same regardless of fuel levels, however, why not change the CPS for new one as not hugely expensive and see if this helps. If not then a new starter motor fixed mine.

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Update Hip Hooray it is finally sorted! Having left it 3 weeks due to holiday it came as no surprise that it wouldn't start. I went with swapping the crank sensor first. The old one was very oily and you couldn't see the sensor tip! However the recess it fits into was clean which surprised me...

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Right, back off hols and did some electrical testing. Battery on charge all night, shows 13.22 volts, with ignition glow plugs and pump running drops to12.60 . When cranking dropped to 11.66, but didn't start. Second attempt battery now at 12.95, drops to 12.6 then to 11.25 when cranking but...

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Thank you and a different take on the problem :-) I will change the temp sensor as cheap enough and not something I had considered. What difference would this make if faulty to the way it starts, under/overfueling maybe? I have never had any crank sensor messages, which suggests that is OK...

Hi i read a comment you posted about using a glue guun and wooden dowels to pull some small dents out the Disco. What glue and glue gun did you use and how did you "unstick" the dowels without marking the paint. The post was 2 years ago so if you can't remember I understand. Thanks Andy

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

If nothing else, owning a LR helps you develop a sense of humour! Ran ok all day then started to take longer and longer cranking to start from hot. Got home afer 50 mile drive and switched her off. Had a brew came to start up and wouldn't fire. Cranked fine so not battery, but only started using...

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Update... I fitted a brand new HD battery without drama. When i went to change the fuel pump relay, I disturbed the main power relay in the process and the brown live wire literally fell off the spade! It was only held on buy a few strands! The wire was green as was the relay terminal. I cleaned...

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Thanks for the info and the video, looks nice there mate! I am assuming that your D2 was running on the fuel contained within the head by the FPR? My engine is a 10p one, so i have been taking pressure from temp sender which shows 4 bar/58psi ingnition on and the same when running including...

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

To test the pressure should i connect to the fuel return to the filter then or is it better connecting between FPR and fuel cooler?

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Can you advise what i would expect to see if OK and what sort of figure constitutes a fail please. I think this may be the issue. Thanks Andy

    TD5 Fuel Pressure problem

Ok, so i got hold of another pump, not brand new but as good as. I did notice though that when you turn ignition on and BEFORE I crank the needle shoots straight to 4 bar. Not gradual or smooth, just straight to 4 bar. (same for both pumps) The car still wouldn't start and when cranking i got a...
