Clean all the oil around the injectors, run the purge cycle and carefully watch for any diesel leaks around the injectors. If you can see diesel then the seal must be leaking or the head is cracked surely. I don't think that would stop it from starting though.

Well I am pleased some of my advice was useful to you. Out of interest what did you use to knock the new seal in.

It's not just you

You can't rely on the axles being correct for that year, my son's Ninety has a Disco 1 front axle I do believe.

You don't have a Defender though, maybe the early seats are different in some way?

How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.

That's a cheapy random aftermarket one then. I paid £160 for a Denso a couple of years ago, £180 seems the cheapest price now.

Maybe whatever the handle operates has come off? Mind you then you would be able to open from the inside I guess. It seems a little odd that both front door catches would fail at the same time.
