Although you have the glass filter bowl on the lift pump we fitted an inline filter , cheap enough.

Td5? I had to cut the head of a ring spanner and then weld a cut down socket so I could put an extension bar up past the fuel rank to undo the nut. Maybe jack the chassis up so the axle is lower, if that makes sense (probably not) You will need...

I wonder if it depends on what you want to do. If you have a base model then there will be less systems to diagnose. We don't have a Nanocom but it seems like it covers just about everything you would need.

When you count 10 motors in the group..utter madness. I go with people who I know & any bad stuff I leave or they do.

Zenith carbs are prone to warping but can be sanded flat again I do believe. Webber carb was £120 at the time so wasn't worth faffing around, sold the worn out Zenith for rebuild.

I made my own with a welder, piece of steel tube and a couple of thick bits of metal from the scrap metal yard

    I know, that's why I suggested a Weber.

Looking at it...being in the last third of my life and wanting to enjoy myself...what made me think trying to recover this ferrous mess was a good use of my time? Sanity check over and thank you!

I’ve been green laning since I got my first Landy in the early 90’s. I started with some friends who were members of a local off road club which was mostly into trials. We went in groups of two or three and didn’t tear up the lanes or drive off...

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest a Webber is the most affordable option. Rebuilt carbs are pretty expensive last time I looked. Don't be tempted by the Chinese Zenith, we had one and it was total rubbish. We then got a good 2nd hand Zenith...

Why do people need to be told how to behave? All sorts of behaviour is available to be seen on the Internet, some just fine some not, doesn't make it an excuse. The group in the video know full well they were driving where they shouldn't and...

I used a bit of grease on the washer to hold it onto the injector when I did the 200tdi, maybe you can do the same? ^^^^ beat me to it.

    Before someone else says it, it's a Ninety not a 90. It's probably/possibly/most likely a Discovery 200td engine, maybe!

Fit a new roof, well 2nd hand, look a lot better than some alloy sheet.

Some of them have them for timing, I think they line up with the "wrong" slot in the flywheel. Ours doesn't have it, maybe the earlier engines have it? Pretty sure it's on one of TrailerFitters 200tdi videos.

Spent a hateful day welding the chassis on the Ninety, another hateful day to look forward to tomorrow. Why is it when welding on a bit of scrap metal you get a lovely weld, get underneath with your head wedged between propshaft and exhaust and...

https://www.alpine-restorations.co.uk/ I am thinking about looking into this lot for the Ninety when the funds are in place. The price is competitive for a Defender, sure they could qoute for a D2. I have no experience of their work though.
