Completely agree with the above and should have said. I was more focused on getting it open. To alight it you need to remove the grill (just large cross head screws) then loosen (not not undo) the tow bolts holding the latch in place. This will...

The cat is on the downpipe, removing the rest of the exhaust is unlikely to make any difference to a blocked cat.

Wedged some foam insulation round the fuel filter, the filter bracket has broken off. Good job it's has a housing round it.

It's these sort of things that people don't bother to sort. Spend a bit of time lining everything up and lubricate every now and again and it should open ok. Let's face it a Defender bonnet needs to be opened on a regular basis.

Anaconda posted the thread F****** halfwits! in Green Laning.
Try watching these halfwits without throwing something at the TV! Blatantly driving off track on a couple of well known routes in Wales and in general behaving like a bunch of feral halfwits. Note the GLASS decal on one of them, reminds me why I...

Have you tried pulling the cable while the other person pushes down or lifts the bonnet? Otherwise take the grille off and pull/push the catch release over.

Found a nice flat parking spot for the night. And had a good day on the lanes in wales. Friend decides to drag the trailer round to see how it is(done well, but you have to remove trailer electric to raise the suspension to highest settings)

Of course the risk being the seal fails and then you have to strip it all out.

First time I ordered filters for mine I struggled to fit the new one as it was a ‘bit’ longer than the one that came off. Can’t remember how much longer it was but I’ve always ordered the short Mahle one since

Exactly the same with my son's Ninety. I spent ages sealing it up, insulating, recovering the head lining. He parked it at his girlfriends house one night, next day she got rather wet when he braked 🤣 She wasn't impressed, even less so since it...

How you getting on? Looking on the chassis on the opposite side suggests they are rivnuts. I have the same job to do at some point.

Just checked, that's what I have got. It's 10cm high, no idea how tall the "normal" size is?

I was getting a lot of condensation so wanted to insulate. It's helped quite a bit and I have stopped almost all water leaks getting in. Doesn't help that both front door lower frames have rusted through letting water into the footwell when it rains.

You can't without stripping it all down. You need to turn the wheel to full lock to squirt some grease in, take the plug out turn the wheel and the hole will become open as the swivel is out of the way.

Did you use insulation over the top or just put the head lining back in?

    Well done

Anaconda replied to the thread Sound Deadening, 300Tdi?.
You do really, the insulation is more for heat and cold although does keep some noise down. Think of the inside of the rear roof and how tinny it is, you only need 3 sound pads along the length between each rib. This will stop the tinny drumming...

Pretty sure that's the insulation I used, you still need to use sound deadening pads first though on any big flat panels.

https://www.deadening.co.uk/products/silent-coat-2mm-mat-volume-pack A random link rather than a recommendation. Oh, you don't need to cover every last bit of panel for it to work, some people get a bit carried away. Insulation needs better coverage.

Van, sw, truck cab? Any flat panel will make a noise. You can get an acoustic mat which covers the floor and seatbox, Wright matting I think. Before you do anything you need to stop the water coming in. I took the head lining out of mine, used...

Yes, get a straight through exhaust, won't hear anything else then.

Transfer box is at 1min 48sec, or thereabouts. Also shows axle and gearbox.

I didn't drain the oil when I did mine. If you look through the videos I am sure you will find one which will show you how to check and top up the oil. Very few garages are keen on Land Rovers, dirty horrible smelly things 🤣

Good show. Get the battery charged up and give it a go. Will be slower to start than normal since you have disturbed everything.

For anyone trying to find out the answer to the immobilizer question, the TDCi 2.2 uses MEMS. The problem I was left with was not the alarm but synchronising all the buses between the ECUs. I had only been focused on the alarm adjustments and...
