    TD4 Revs on it's own

Thanks for all your help guys! I booked diagnostics mid next week, I will drive around first to get the problem to appear then I'll drive around with diagnostics attached to check all values live. I found the clutch switch, it doesn't have any mechanical moving parts on it so it must work...

    TD4 Revs on it's own

I was thinking of paying for them before the test, then just keep the part I need and return the rest. I just need a couple of minutes to drive around the block to see if it makes any difference or not. Not much of a plan really, I will try to go back to the shop but if they can't find the...

    TD4 Revs on it's own

Quite possibly... Well my final plan of attack is to find used parts dealer and ask him to loan me TPS, MAF and ECU and hope it goes away. IF it does it's just a matter of finding which one of those is to blame. Of course it could be some of the other sensors and bits but these are the ones I...

    TD4 Revs on it's own

Valid point. I will ask the guys at the shop have they checked what happens while driving it. Although can't see how reducing vehicle speed would influence TPS readings.

    TD4 Revs on it's own

Hi guys, I have this problem for almost 2 years now and it's making me crazy. Car basically revs up to about 2000 rpm on it's own and settles down when slowing down to about 20mph and under. Things I concluded so far: - it NEVER happens on cold engine, it needs perhaps 5 miles driven or so...

    TD4 '02 throttle potentiometer voltages

Success! It was a pedal sensor fault after all. Was a bit tricky to remove as well, the second 13mm bolt was hidden pretty well, required some acrobatics to get to :) Thanks again td4van, helped me a lot!

    TD4 '02 throttle potentiometer voltages

Yes sorry, forgot to mention the supply voltage was fine. It's quite a long story actually, my throttle just died all of the sudden. I did check everything as described in autodata software and all of the resistances were fine (measured on the sensor as well on ECU plug), supply voltage was...

    TD4 '02 throttle potentiometer voltages

Thanks for your reply. The voltage coming to the pedal is correct, 5V to each potentiometer, so i guess the wires and ECU are fine, most probable cause seems to be the pedal sensor itself.

    TD4 '02 throttle potentiometer voltages

Hey guys, I was hoping you happen to know the correct output signal voltages on the throttle potentiometer. The car is '02 Freelander TD4 with 2.0l BMW diesel engine. I know it's a "dual" potentiometer, it has 6 wires coming out, 3 wires for each potentiometer, power supply, ground and signal...

    TD4 needs help

Thanks for the reply. I guess it could be some other sensor, after all the car was under water, who knows what could be wrong. You did give me some good pointers and I will check it out over weekend. I also started to suspect crankshaft sensor could be faulty, some guy had exactly the same...

    TD4 needs help

Hey guys. I own an '02 Freelander TD4. Unfortunately the great spring flood that wiped Serbia clean also managed to wet my Landy , he was under the water for 5 days :(. I have managed to repair almost everything, however the ECU is giving me troubles. ECU was repaired, it worked fine, then all...
