Well I did find a soft rubber hose with a 5mm bore on the left side of the engine, but couldn't see where it came from. It's about two feet long. Someone else started the strip down to remove the intake to fix the fuel leak!

Well after reading the link to the posts that JUKE179r shared, it was mentioned that taking the battery off can cause this problem. The battery tested 12.6 volts so I reconnected it for a day and all is working ok now! Except that it ticks over but won't rev up!!

Another question, the previous owner has put 20 inch wheels on it, they haven't pimped it in any way, it looks a bit low as it's on springs but would those size wheels make a difference to the speedo or economy? And would it be worth putting the air bags back on if it was only suffering a leaky...

Well I hope the previous owners were as knowledgable as you guys. I've done all the work on my TD5 but never had anything to do with the V8's. Jobs to do list is getting longer, fuel leak under one of the manifolds a good service and the headlining to re-do.

Thanks for the reassurance! So I need to clean the cooling system, change the thermostat and check the viscous fan is turning. Perhaps fit a better rad and fan?
