cheers for the welcome ime suprised the overdrive still works to be fair i drove it from bolton to midlands without going up the gears and drive in the corect manner ups :) it was a long jurney but it made it 55mph all the way

the names steve i am from the midlands
i was verry much in to the aircooled vw scene untill working 72hrs a week on them drove me out of my mind :P
so had a couple of years of from cars anyway felt like a change so bourt an ebay nightmare in october
its a 1966 2a

U can still spin the drum fine so it carnt be catching the shoes and u look down the hole of the locking screw that hold the drum on and it's definatly sat right back really confused by this the bearings feel great there's no free play up down left right and spins fine as it should ????

so got my self an ebay special (knightmare) 2a
and so it failed its mot on top swivel pin amongst over probs
so rebuilt that and while i was there thought i may aswell do wheel bearings as u do
now dont know y this has happend but everything has tighten up as it should of bearings sat back...
