    Auto specialist advice

I was so hopeful it would be this simple, however pscan shows gearbox oil temperature where I would think would be right. 6C this morning, went for a drive and couple hours after (due to rain) plugged in again and it was showing 22C so looks like that's ok. Appreciate your help though :)

That's an interesting one. Pscan has a live data thing so will see what temp mines reading :) Thank you :)

Rear diff bushes seem weak on these as well, mine were beyond knackered when I got the truck 👍

Mine was pretty consistent hard changing, the solenoid tested ok but put new one in and it sorted it. Have you tried changing the oil?

    Auto specialist advice

I tested the resistances and all came back fine, but still had the harsh gear change, changed the 2-4 duty and timing solenoids sorted this. Apparently resistance only says if the coil is ok and not if the solenoid is actually operating / stuck etc. I used carlube atf-u which was recommended by...

I checked all resistances and they showed ok however the 2-4 solenoid was still bad. Correct fluid procedure done each time :) I have pscan, no faults on the car, and 1 on the transmission which is 'p1605 keep alive memory test fail'. My only option at the moment is chuck a new old auto box...

    Auto specialist advice

Hi all, As most of you probably won't remember I'm having trouble with my Jatco 5 speed 2002. I have replaced the reverse drum and clutch packs inside this, 2-4 duty and timing solenoids and the TCC solenoid. About 12 litres of fresh fluid put through doing these jobs. Problem I have is when...

    Jatco auto ecu

Hi all Anyone know what numbers need to match if any for a freelander 1 td4 (2 litre) auto ecu? Looks like td4 and v6 ecus might be the same so not sure if the numbers matter 🤔 Cheers :)

    Fancy a laugh, wiring question

Hi all , Got an issue with my 2002 freelander td4 auto. Goes into 5th when cold and first start driving but once driven a few miles, looses 5th. Up and down gears is fine and smooth otherwise. After a drive, there is a strong smell what I think is auto oil, but have no leaks anywhere 🤔 (reverse...

    Another Jatco issue? Td4

I have replaced the 2/4 duty solonoid and the timing one that sits directly underneath (they were in a kit together) just got to test it. When I took the cover plate off I found in 2 of the corners a creamy substance. I changed the oil a couple weeks ago and it all came out looking fine, oil...

    Another Jatco issue? Td4

Hi all, Bought a 2002 freelander td4 auto a couple of weeks ago. Found it had a real hard 3rd to 4th change, did cause the HDC light at kne point. After searching on here and various places, I sourced one of those clutch drum thingies and changed that out. Couldn't see any real issues but put...

    Jatco auto clutch drum thingy

Hi all, Having a few problems with my freelander 1 td4 going from 3rd to 4th I think, checked the ohms on the plugs and solonoids all check OK, going to change the fluid butbit seems like it's the part on the non engine side of the gearbox that may be at fault. You take the plane off the end...
