We went through the first ones and reset the same way figuring correct.. It wasn’t until the second we realized the first springs were incorrectly set wrong and seems to match the repair manual. The left rear are good now but need to open the...
Tottot, Appreciate the quick response and yes my bad on the spelling.. I know better. Yes, a little premature as we just noticed on the other set. You helped confirm my dilemma. Thank you!!
Need help on 1991 rear drum kit. Ordered new drum assembly kit. New break arm didn’t come with brake pad tensioner peg to adjust tension. I’m assuming it’s a nice to have and not something I should just place pads w springs? Any suggestions?
Thanks Dag. I will likely still fill up and may even include a 50/50 of Diesel conditioner or cleaner and then just drop back in.. can’t hurt but good to know no issues w your experience with the self purging. I shouldn’t have any issues if it...
Am I in the minority where by I do not bother priming or prefilling the filter and never have?
There is enough fuel left in the system to start the engine and leave it idling, once idling it will very quickly fill and bleed itself. May...
Thanks guys. Was aligning but makes me feel better to see. Sounds as long as the filter is full or nearly full.. there shouldn’t be any issues if not primed.. But, will fill, keep bleed screw cracked and try prime lever regardless. If not will...

If... You have no clean diesel to fill the new filter with, you need to mess about with the lift...
Fill new filter with diesel, refit filter, start it and allow to tick over for a minute or two, you will hear any air go through as it might misfire slightly for a few seconds then will run clear.
The bosch ve pump is very good at self bleeding...
As above, and if there is a tad of air left the injection self bleed will soon sort as engine fires up. Filling filter most the way before screwing on saves a lot of pumping on lift pump lever.
If you crack off the bleed screw , and use the lever to draw fuel from tank that’s what I do , although takes a bit of priming
If the lever not doing anything it means the pump lever has been moved by the cam lobe so you can’t get the full pump...
I’m going to replace my fuel filter on my 200tdi D90. It’s mounted in the bulkhead and appears to have a priming level (circled in picture attached) but have never used.
I’ve read differing posts and opinions saying priming is needed or not...
