    You're absolutely correct. The brown/yellow wire broken just inside the loom. It was a pig to solder, at arms length in the dark whilst stood on a box (short-arse). Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    I couldn't break the tapers at all, I ended up cutting the tapers off, put the hub carrier in my blacksmith forge and punching them out at red heat, it still took a good wallop with a 3lb hammer. All done now. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, I'm stuck on removing the hub carrier. the nuts off the upper joint, the stem snapped on the lower joint level with the collet when I tried to remove the nut. I've got pickle forks hammered in and it's not dropping, do I need to remove the collet first because it wont budge. Thanks Jim...

    Well, I've answered my own question. It's duff, there was no circulation in the reservoir, it just wasn't pumping the fluid at all. So I've swapped it for the old leaky one, which bled itself almost. So weekend wasted and the headache of trying to get a refund to follow.

    Hello folks, I picked up a 2002 disco 2 Serengeti last week. The power steering pump is leaking at the joint between the two halves of the pump body. I've bought a recon pump, and need to know if there is anything else I need to complete the job (gaskets maybe). Thanks.
