the rear pump makes a high pitch whining noise, you can hear it if you sit in drivers seat turn ignition on and open your door. you will know if its working as you can clearly hear it if you go under the tank

you can get a head gasket from lotus for this engine its around £100 and will do the job its made of copper and is pretty thick. the head gasket is really easy to do but dont expect any diffference using mls
