When is a specialist not a specialist?

Hi There would be no point posting on here to warn people if the problem was not real. All info about the state of the vehicle is on DVLAs website for its MOT 48 days prior to selling the vehicle to my partner . The MOT was done in South Wales by the previous owner prior to trading it in for...

When is a specialist not a specialist?

My partner went to an alleged Land Rover Specialist in good faith she was doing the right thing. As it turns out this dealer specialised in being a con man not in Land Rover. I am ex trade and can spot when something isn't right about a dealer but she bought it without my knowledge. Its not good...

When is a specialist not a specialist?

His original name even included "specialist" in it !! If you type the companies old name in google it takes you to his new slightly re named company website. Which incidentally is identical to his liquidated companies website except the front page.

When is a specialist not a specialist?

In my experience a "specialist" in a marque is trading on having good knowledge in a specific area, normally charging a premium for that implied knowledge/experience. Trading as a specialist when you sell vehicles with known problems that are common to type of vehicle takes being a bad trader to...

When is a specialist not a specialist?

However after my partner bought the L322 from him the car was still listed on his website for a long time as still for sale. In my opinion this...

When is a specialist not a specialist?

The discovery off the botched repairs and the fact he had supplied it with only 10 mths MOT to hide his full knowledge of them happened after he liquidated his company and restarted under a slightly different name at the same address.

When is a specialist not a specialist?

I didn't buy it my partner bought it as a treat for herself after saving her hard earned cash as a mood lift during the pandemic. Yes she paid top money and this bloke is a misogynist. When I got involved being ex motor trade he tried to refuse to deal with me. She assumed as he claimed to be a...

When is a specialist not a specialist?

I posted on here to try and help protect other potential new owners buying at a high price believing the alleged specialist would have fully checked out the common problems known to the marque and model. It was my partner who purchased the car. I have bought from other specialists for other...

He charges top market price for his vehicles claims to have inspected the vehicles before they leave but you get 2 miles down the...
