    clutch pedal will not go down enough

    Sounds like your clutch might be jamming up with some errant springs if its not the fork. I take engine out for clutch change. 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

    2. I filled top gutter with thin smear of silicon on my defender and a 03 discovery solved the problem on both. (or park facing down hill) 3. £60 seems cheap i'd go for it. Not going to get any better. 5. Captive bolts loads of kits on e bay but have an impact screwdriver to hand to start them...

    I left everything semi loose until it lined up correctly. Nothing a ratchet strap and patience cannot solve.

    Find an electrical company local to refurb it especially if a genuine alternator. Cost me £20 for a refurb and its like new and better than a cheap after market job.

    My money is on the turbo you did very well to save the engine. Also very brave to restart it after the fault. Replace turbo wait till night fall to start and burn all the oil out the system.

    You can add another alternator quite easily with a bracket and belt. Have a google search someone sells the kit. Would perhaps take the demand off the original alternator and keep the auxiliary circuit completely separate.

    Seals and injector washers not a big job on td5 but closely monitor oil level afterwards. Ive had to change 2 heads on td5's replacing them with turner replacements after cracks in originals.

    The 2.5 diesel he is talking about that they also fitted to the Omega is legendary. Never fail and the torque is ridiculous. Just have a look at the value it adds to a scrapper if that engine is fitted in the front. I would love one in my land rover.

    I had same on a renault van only when parked on hill facing forward over night? Did it for 4 years till I sold it! Back to the land rover id top up the tank if that resolves the problem first point of call is the fuel pick up.

    My 1995 defender wipers started to misbehave recently. Once switched on it wouldn't switch off including the intermittent wipe. I have replaced the relay in the past and had different symptoms. Turned out to be the park switch, £8 and 15 mins normal service is now resumed.
