Hi All.
Just changed my clock out for a battery gauge on a 95 300TDi.
Wanted to keep my eye on the battery and have a clock on the radio, so seemed like a good move!
It was only done last night, in the dark! I used the green permanent live from the clock and earthed it across to the middle of the three dials. Still need to sort the light out for it - will probably just slice into on the the existing lights behind there when I can see what I'm doing tonight.
Anyway, I jumped in this morning, the gauge works great, seems to sit in the right place and you can see fluctuation if you turn on the heated seats or full beams (with spots). However the back of the glass is steamed up and the dial is warm when i touch it, not hot, just warm.
I accidently left the drivers side rear sliding window on the first catch over night, so there would have been moisture in the car, but none of the other dials have steamed up.
I suppose, after all this rambling
my question is...Should the dial be warm and have I wired it in okay?!
Cheers
