Hi all. Going to go for the big 35" tyres but don't want to put any more strain on the old girl so I want to put correct transfer box on to alter gearing accordingly. Had a look on previous threads but can't find a definite answer.

I have a disco 200 just want to know which transfer box from which fender would do the job? Cheers all.

I was led believe a defined we box would do the job. I'm just unsure about whether this would be a 200 defender or any would fit?! Just trying to get my head round it.

yes an LT230 defender box will bolt straight on but make sure its a 1.4 as I presume thats what you're wanting instead of the disco 1.2 thats already on it

Disco transfer box copes just fine with 35's just make sure your in the right gear...

... but struggles to keep to the speed limits (traffic flow) when fully loaded and towing a caravan up even small hills, where it was fine with 31" tyres .. ;)

Series diffs are nice but the CWP are weaker so would break more likely

It's 1.4 or 1.6 anyway, depending on the true tyre height

THE best solution is Ashcroft CWP with reverse cut front.

Believe me I've alredi tried that approach. Drained oil out plug back in and it won't tighten or come out now. Just spinning.

The sump plug has snapped in the transfer box. Got head an half of it out but half of thread is now stuck in box?!
