Hi All,

My panhard rod is bent and I ordered a new one. I have no idea why or how it was bent as I bought the Disco a few months ago.

Anyhow, I know it is only 2 bolts but what I am worried about is that the holes don't line up.
Can I widen the gap (as the rod is bent I assume that they are to close?) by wiggling the steering wheel?

Have you checked the rest of the bushes, drag link and drop arm etc. ?
Just to make sure all else is good ...

Yes we did check and it all seems new, there is a lot of new stuff on the Disco. It came to light when it was on the car lift.
The bent is very visible once it was up, it was unnoticed when I was under the car.

Could have been dragged over some rocks or used by a retard to jack it up?? Just have one of your kids or your mrs wiggle the steering wheel side to side whilst you push the bolt through.

Perhaps it was used by a Recovery Driver to stick his winch hook to.
Had it done to my first discovery a while ago
that could explain it as the rod is bent down wards. I tried bending it back (to line the holes up better for replacement) with a jack to no avail.

If needs be just get the angle grinder out and then replace the bolts with new ones, when I did mine in the past the bolts had rusted to the bushes and it was the only way to remove the bar
