hello everyone, so i found out the drivers side track rod end is bad, so i had rung up a parts place on Monday, i advise him its a series IIA 1963 model, so he finds out what track rod ends i needed and sends it over night i get them Tuesday and found out that he has sent a shouldered end and a full thread tie-rod end, now i know that mine is the early type ( before 74) so i ring up the place that sold me them and advise them they have sent me a fully threaded end when both should be shouldered, so he goes out the back to find 2 spares i think old ones he has in stock and claims that one end is shouldered and the other is threaded, so i take his word for it but i assumed from in the past i had to use shouldered on each side in fact all 6 in total need to be shouldered as i have researched online.
so does anyone know on here if thats right that both ends are shouldered as i have never heard of one being shouldered and one fully threaded. i have a spare out the back and both are shouldered and the previous owner used fully threaded ones and bodge the rod i.e. cut a line on the opposite of the slit thats cut from factory to make it fit.
