Wouldn't be sure about that Keith this is fitted to a 95 car his car is 2000. Don't know about Powerlink. But PSI Powerbox is different for early cars than for post 99 models.

That's what I have said, pre & post EGR, auto/manual will make no difference IMO
Auto or manual was not the problem it was ECU compatibility i was referring to. I don't know the coverage of the Powerlink that is why i said he would have to do some digging. Powerbox change was for 2000 models nothing to do with EGR

Yes. Part number should be 0.460.406.994. If they are both that number they can be swapped.

Reason I ask is on a 175000 miler I would expect starting issues especially as there's no hot start fix. It fires first turn cold starting and cranks once or twice for hot starts with no glows and all is good.. But the FIP looks in better condition than the rest of the engine. So perhaps been reconditioned / replaced. If I take that off, buy a new timing kit and have the FIP fitted to mine, maybe it would solve my issues?
That would be a fair bet. I think i have said you maybe looking at a new injection pump earlier in the saga. Specially if it's been running off water and diesel mix.
You did say that but I hoped anyway for a cheaper fix. I will be taking the FIP off the donor anyway and start getting the timing kit together. The lift pump was fine, 180 ml in 10 seconds.
I was messing about earlier and thought I would try that powerbox for a laugh.. No effect on the take off but it making a huge difference once the turbo kicks in, it has a very noticeable increase in power... I was shocked... Any potential issues you can see with me leaving that on?
As I was fitting it I realised that it had previously had a same or similar unit on, the patch lead to the FIP was still there but the powerbox wires had been cut as had the wire connected to the map sensor....

As i said earlier i know nothing of the Powerlink unit or it's applications. You would need to do some digging to read up on it. It maybe ok it may not.
It is not unknown for people to fit things like that to mask a problem. If you have to fit it or something similar make sure everything is ok first. Don't fit it to make a silk purse from a sows ear.

A power box will eat the auto box on the diesel, the ZF4HP22 is on the limit as standard.

Trust he knows how to time the pump...procedure is in RAVE!...
Considering your timing chain is old, you/he will have to time the pump accordingly (again as per RAVE)
They specialise just in land rovers so they should know a thing or 2.. He's rebuilt a p38 gearbox for me a few years back, great service. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area...
