Hiya guys,

Does anyone have a step by step process for removing a rear diff for a Freelander 2? I spoke to bell engineering, they said I need to get it off to switch it out for a reconditioned one. I have a Haynes manual but it doesn't seem to have it in there.

This should help you out, if you follow the directions it is pretty straight forward.

If you do a search Nodge has put some posts up about it as well if I remember rightly, brain is getting a bit scattered nowadays.

I did a thread on the diff which I've not actually finished, but I think I completed the removal section of the thread. I'll search for it.

Removing the diff is a couple of hours work, as long as the necessary bolts come out.

Thanks mate, I found a video on You tube, a guys Mrs was in the car and it locked up. So I'm getting pretty worried about using it at all now.

Mine locked up at 50 MPH, it was a bit of a surprise, as I wasn't expecting the rear of the car to slide sideways mid corner.
