Can any one give me some advice on swopping a blown 4.0 petrol engine to a BMW diesel what needs to be changed and what is compatible any help gratefully recieved

Put a petrol back in, sell it, buy a diesel if thats what you want.
It's not just the engine to worry about. you have all the various ecu's the the wiring harness, engine mounts, gearbox ?, not sure if the suspension is different regarding weight.
More trouble than it's worth imo

I go with Tervueren 100%.
Wiring looms, radiators, ECU's, reprogramming,exhaust etc.etc. it just would't be worth the cost even if it was a late model in immaculate condition.

Have you driven a p38 diesel?
Trust me, you won't want one if you have, gas the petrol if I was you
