Hi Guys,
I’m new to the forum! Just a question.

I have a Range Rover Sport L320 2011 3.0L Diesel had failed injectors and failed pump. Also found 10 litres of watered down oil diesel mix inside engine.

Changed 3 injectors and brand new OEM fuel pump.

After firing up I’ve noticed it has a tapping noise.

Will the noise go away?

Any help would be grateful
Thanks in advance

Did you flush the entire fuel system? A blown pump will contaminate the whole fuel system with metal.
Normally just one failed injector will warrant all six to be replaced and a failed pump will warrant a whole heap of things to be replaced...
Rails, injectors, pressure sensors and anything that has fuel flowing through it 😢

Not sure if mechanic has flushed it ..
he did say that there was no shavings found in the oil though .. so not sure ..

Mechanic said he only changed 3 injectors and told me it’s now running on 6 cylinders

After all that he’s now telling me that he doesn’t think my engine will last and he’s actually waiting to hear a bang 😵‍💫

Charging me nearly £3000 😪

The 3.0tdv6 isn't a great engine unfortunately. It's not a question of "if" it fails but "when"!! 😢
Métal would be found in the fuel filter not the engine oil, if that's what you mean?
Any tapping noises near the bottom of the engine block could point to failing bearings on the crank which is the usual failure.
If it goes at high engine speed it can damage the engine block as well.

I doubt the mechanic flushed the fuel system to be honest ..

So if metal is in there fuel filter will you hear the tapping sound?

Also, if I do flush the fuel system will that get rid of the tapping sound ..

(Sorry if I sound or am asking silly questions, it’s a lady behind the screen that doesn’t want to get ripped off and trying to learn/understand mechanics)

The tapping sound could be from many parts in the engine.
A result of the original failure or another issue in the engine.
Unfortunately I can't give you an exact diagnosis without seeing and hearing the engine myself. Is the noise at the top end or the bottom end? 👍
