In your opinions, do you think the KV6 could easily be made to mount longitudinal in another car application to run rwd?

I'm thinking Triumph Spitfire mk4 btw. I've always thought a V6 would be nice in there, but the only ones I have heard of are ancient Ford units with their nasty fuel consumption and weight.

It's bloody heavy. I've driven one and it goes well, but slow revving IMO and heavy heavy heavy handling. It also drinks and I'm not keen on the lines of the GT6 bonnet with it's bulge. I've seen V8 ones and they are a lot better handling but far too much for the chassis I think...

I've been trying to think over the years of a lightweight modern engine with decent economy that fits nicely and sounds good. KV6 is a good contender I think or maybe a Ford Mondeo V6? Basically a rwd V6 would be good but something plentiful and cheap.

Yep.
I've got one to fit into my 1972 Hillman Avenger. I'm using it because it has a good torque to weight ratio.

Ooh, I had a 1957 Rapier with the 1725 lump in it IIRC and it went rather well too...

Oh, and I know the 1.8 K series fits the Spit with little work, but..........

Ford V6 spins it's bearings for a past time and is heavy.
This is why I chose to use the KV6. Making it rwd isn't that difficult if you know Rover stuff.

cant believe that listed ended was watching it as thinking of getting rid of the diesel for a v6

The V6 Freelander has lots going for it, however it can be a money pit if you are unlikely. Even if you get one that stays in one piece, it will still drink fuel like a fish!! I average pretty much bang on 20 mpg on my daily commute driving it sensibly. If I drive it with some enthusiasm I can halve that!!

The fuel bill doesnt bother me usedto drive a fiesta st moddedand that mpg was lets say not good lol

Just been thinking of a v6 for a while I do like the l series tho

The only thing I don't like about the V6 is no manual option.
The L series can be made to produce good power with a nice pile of torque, much more than the V6 can provide ;)

Thats true bout them been auto but its not like its a big deal really plus no clutch to change lol

Allim doing now is talking my self into sellingthe l series and buying a V6
