If you're planning going off road in your vehicle then don't be too precious about your paintwork. It means you cry less the first time a branch puts a full length scratch down the side.
In terms of practicality, then a flat paint colour is easier to match/t-cut (to cover scratches) than a metallic or pearlescent.
If you want a defender to look pretty and the worst off roading it will do is a muddy car park then go for a metallic dark green or grey. Black's for pimps and wannabe gaylanders.![]()
