Hi there folks,
I was wondering if anybody could help me. When I accelerate in any gear (particularly 3rd gear) my 2003 freelander 1.8 petrol begins to judder and a considerable loss of power is evident.
This problem seems to be worse when commencing a journey from a cold engine, sometimes no juddering is experienced at all!?
On the previous two outings when accelerating in 3rd gear the yellow engine dash light has flashed on and off until the engine is switched off. When this has happened I have pulled into a safe spot and turned the engine off for a couple of minutes.
Upon reignition of the engine the dash warning light was no longer lit.
If anybody out there could give me some info on this problem I would be most grateful - I would like to be in a position where I am armed with facts before I approach the mechanic!
Thanks for reading this guys :)

well, just pop into a garage and get a code read, if the light owas on one of the sensors was obviously picking up a fault, or was at fault. my local garages only charge £20 for a code read. then, depending on what it comes back as you can with post that info on here, or book it in to a garage for them to fix.

Rear diff front mouting is most likely cause but dont get the cheap one ,they only last about 10,000 miles, get genuine one.
