Another Tailgate problem won't lock

Hello My tailgate won't open.I've read the posts on this problem but have not found the answer.My tailgate would'nt open without the key or from inside holding catch and opening.After replacing the inner y shaped pivot tailgate does not open at all I checked all rods and they all are connected and in the right place.Have wd40 the handle.It just seems as if door is locked and that's it.
Any help appreicated.

having this problem myself, my handle is stuck in the open position and the lock is up but my door wont open, when i got her my central locking wouldnt work on the rear door and i put that down to the lock position and that cured it, now the other day i was arguing with the missus and when i got the dogs out the back i really slammed the back door so the presumtion i have came to is that it has nudged the lock out of place again, you need to take the land rover badge out the handle couling if you get what i mean and see what you can do to prize the lock from there, hope this helps.

with copiuos amounts of CRC or WD 40

take the landrover badge off and jab the handle with a big blunt screwdriver

i dont wanna take my badge off this time cause mine is a sticky one now with no backing and cost me 7 quid lol
