Sean, I've been quoted about £350 for a service - is that reasonable.

As I'm not initially going to be using it seriouslyoff road I was looking at getting something fairly basic then adding bits on as the years go by. Its main use is going to be transporting people rather than driving into the wilds. What sort of purchases were you refering to?

you could get a nice basic landy for less than 5k - 350 is a lot o fmoney to spend on getting something done that you could very easily do for yourself in less than half a day

your wondering what sort of things you could purchase for yer depender ? (it's endless)

Let me google that for you

Point taken.

Am I likely to get that restless so quickly? My spending habits are serriously limited by having 3 kids so the negotiations have to be all up front ;) hence the reason for buying as much a chunk as I can up front. There are also thgoughts of driving to France in the summer so I'm hoping to buy reliability as well

spend 4k on a good 300 engined 110 - keep the balance in yer swiss account for the winch/snorkel/intercooler/cb/new tyres etc etc - and tell the mrs it cost 10k

buy her a nice pressy with the rest

everyone is happy

Just a small point, remember your HPI and police checks, and check the VIN and logbook numbers against the ones the HPI and police checks turn up!

Just another point.
That ebay seller, yanthelandyman. Ive had a dealing with him before.

Cut it all short, he photoshops photos for ebay, i looked at a couple. One of them he accidentally put the un photoshopped image beside the doctored one. I emailed him, and he sent me a really ****erish reponse back.

Therefore i dnt like him any more, you shouldn't need to doctor pictures to sell a car.

Forget e-blag for buying vehicles. Look on Autotrader for something local.
Don't be hasty either. I spent ages before I commited to buying my Landy and I played hardball with the dealer and got £1500 knocked off.

Good luck
