battery prob

so is any one out there a battery expert? my landy battery got droped , this cracked the case and two cells ran dry. i repaird the cracks and refill with acid from an old battery, now i cant get the two cells to charge up
should i have used acid from a flat cell or a charged one, i seem to remember somethink about the acid turning to water when the cell is charged.

Why not buy yourself a new battery instead a feckin about with battery acid???

Its also probably damaged the seperators between the plates allowing them to short, throw the battery and invest in a new one....

yep go to ya local scrap metal dealer and get a few pence for your old one and then go and buy a nice new one .......

it's a lot more bearable if you visit an agricultural merchant or tractor dealer instead of a motor factors. ask for a 643 or 644 type battery which is about the biggest tractor battery you can fit in a series tray. the difference between 643 and 644 is which way round you want the + and the -. expect to pay about £35.
