Hi

Wonder if any one could point me in the direction to why my landy vibrates and is rather noisy when i drive up hills....

Its ok at low speed but after about 30mph its starts judering and is very noisy i Do know it has nothing to do with engine so i guess its in the drive system maybe??

have you tried changing down a gear?? and taking the chequer plate off it

Its not the vibration of chequer plate its a vibration throught the whole vehicle its very strange!
If i change down a gear or lower the revs it stops.. but starts again it you give it some throttle

Check for worn universal joint bearings, propeller shaft might be out of balance. youve had new wheels put on recently have they been balanced right !! could also be halfshaft joints.
might be something simple, so dont worry just yet, was it like this when you drove it away!!

yeah it was...
the guy i bought it of was a pretty genuine guy he didnt know much about them like me...

i hope the problem isnt to bad because i already have to replace p/steering box....

do you think £1500 is a good price?

1500 dosent seem a bad price, most landys hold there price well even the oldies. looks a nice bit of kit. did you get any receipts for anything !!

might be a good idea to get underneath with your grease gun and do all the propshaft uj's with lithium grease and any thing else you can find to start with.

I used to have a Morris van, under load i.e accelerating up hill or just setting off with a bit of weight in the back, the panels used to "drum", if someone in the back put their hands on the sides it would quieten off.

Are the sides and roof fastened on properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd take the wheel spacers of as well. All they'll do is nacker your wheel bearings if they havent already.

i just gotta say it!!! juddering going up hill and it stops if you change down!
any vee hickk ell 'ill do that if yer in too high a gear. are we sure this ain't no wind up??

Hey guys sorry about not replying i have read all the posts and i am very grateful!

My uncle has had a good look at the landy and he thinks that it is a couple of bushes need replacing so i will be of to get new bushes soon

I'm going to suggest prop shaft spider joints. Although I think this would vibrate at road speeds, not just going up hills. i think this might be slobs point?
