I should have done this earlier, cos I've posted a couple of threads.
Still here goes.
My name is Scott,I live in Crowborough,East Sussex and I love cars. And my hobby, more cars.

I bought my first LandRover a couple of months ago when looking on Ebay.
It was a real bargain.A 2003 on an 03 plate TD4 Serengeti Freelander, with a shot Turbo for £3500.Enough said.A trailor and a trip with the wifes Vitara later, and it was home.
What an awful job changing the Turbo! Still, I found a local guy in Paddock Wood who breaks Freelanders, and more Freelanders.£90 later for a low mileage turbo with 90 days warrantee, and we had a running car.
LandRover had quoted £2600+vat for the repair, but I chose not to change the exhaust, since it was cheaper to smoke out Crowborough one late night whilst the exhaust burnt of oil deposits that had poured in when the old turbo had failed! Now I have a lovely car for £3750 including trailor and turbo, and of course sweat and pain!It ran lovely for 2000miles,until it developed a bit of extra whistle and a funny noise best described as blowing a whistle with a ball in it slowly.I put this down to a boost leakand have found that the boost pipe joining the turbo to the pipe that runs behind the engine looks suspect. My local LandRover place have struggled to identify it, although today they rang me and have assured me that they think they know which one it is having studied their system with my description.I will see when in comes in stock.
What I can recommend anybody doing is removing the EGR valve and decoking it, and cleaning the MAF sensor.God what a difference it has made on the economy! No power gain just more affordable driving with the ever increasing cost of diesel!
Will I ever go off road??
No immediate plans, but my other car is a 5.0L V8 Mk1 Cortina built by me so watch this space!:D

Forgot to add, Favourite car. 1934 Ford. You know the one. 'ZZ TOP' fans will! When will I have one.You only live once so one day soon!
