suffolk lanes, Ixworth area?

Looking for some easy lanes to take my daughter on, anyone know any around ixworth , diss etc?

Are these drivable?

Nope, wood lane is a bridalway, Dunhill lane is a BOAT but there's a marker on it on Trailwise saying... "Problem : Byway goes into woods not wide enough for a 4x4" this is marked where the N end of the lane goes into the woods.

Yer not a million miles away from Thetford, lots of easy lanes around there.

I might go and have a look, we are both sitting at home today bored so I thought Id take her out on a lane or two if there were any nearby.

I use a 3 mile long but very flat and easy green lane in inkling ham just outside bury St Edmunds . A good mixture of grass ,mud and water . Some decent bumps too. And at the end you can easily turn round and do it again . Nice n wide with some good views too. I'd say it would be perfect for your daughter . Give me a shout and I'll give you the directions

oh, hang on , there is two, can you drive both of them?

Yes that circuit of Kings Forest is drivable - the route on the left is very open, the route on the right takes you right through the forest, and the one horizontally joins them up nicely.....

I see it, past weatherhill farm? Im going to go and have a wee drive on Saturday morning, take my daughter out for a little adventure.

If you go in from the Ickingham end it's very scratchy for about 3 - 400 meters. Also worth checking the entrance on Streetview as the entrance is behind the hedgerow, and the turning to Canada Farm is on the nearside, easy to get the two fixed up.

There is actually a lane that runs north south for a short distance adjacent to the Elvedon Road which means that you can do a whole circuit there without leaving the tarmac.

There's also another network of lanes on the other side of the road that are pretty good lanes.

Thanks Darren, Ill take her out on the little drive round the forest tomorrow and see how we get on, I think it will be enough.
She loves taking pictures (as do I) so I bought her a proper little camera for her last birthday and she is still learning how to use it, we regularly go for walks around here taking photos of wildlife, and gates, trees, rocks , our feet, puddles, so a nice drive into the ''wilderness'' with a pick nick and our cameras will be a nice new adventure for her.
She took these yesterday morning from the back yard, all be it with a little help setting the tripod up. (proud dad face)

Thanks fella, we had a wonderful day out, those lanes were really nice and the scenery was lovely. My daughter realty enjoyed her self, and she got to see some deer hopping through the forest which made her day. Thanks for all your help guys.
