Feeling fine, thats good cos since last friday i been feeling like death and the R/Rover not moved, wont move today either as the bloody battery is flat!!
started it on tuesday to see if it ok, started ok but maybe i draged the last of the guts out the battery and didnt leave it running long enough, either way sometimes its ok for weeks, other times it dont manage 1 week without problems?????????

new battery and new alternator 2 months ago, the new battery was a replacement for the deffective new battery that was fitted in august! maybe i should get my money back and buy from some where else!! i paid £50 for it new with 3 year gaurantee.............

what about the famous RF receiver problem, have you got the latest version in?? If not your BeCM could be getting woken up constantly by random signals etc.

-Wills :)

redrange id go with what wills said ,i had the same prob with the rf receiver but instead of paying 150 for the rf receiver not sure what rr want to fit it 150 squid is just for the part, i just disconnected the aerial from the rf receiver but means i have to hold the fob near the fuel filler to lock and unlock it but it stops the bcem waking up from wireless broadband routers which inturn drain the bat, ps gis us a call and ill link up wit ya and go over the h.i.d light wiring.

the battery is an 80amphr thing, theres a guy round the corner with a massive aerial in his back garden, he not radio ham, he the whole pig! but bearing this in mind i never had any trouble with flat batt due to it waking up before!!
got it jumped and its been running for over an hour, 14.4 on back of alt, 13.98 at batt terminals! with the load on the system is it realisticly ok to expect no drop what so ever between alt and battery?
seems the chassis to engine earth strap would be worth renewing as i get a better reading from batt + and engine earth than i do between batt + and chassis earth! and it seems flimsy too so il renew that, but! im sure that wont stop the battery from discharging?

oh the joys of R/Rover ownership! i luv em really..............

as far as the reciever goes, how does one tell if you have the most recent as theres no numbers on it or the pcb in the box!

Have just delved into my new RF receiver (YWY500170) and the PCB has another vertical board on the front. The numbers on this are BR27433HUF. The old unit had an almost flat PCB with only about ten components on it. I have taken some pics but dont know how to attach them. I hope this is helpful. See also my posting last night.

Just sussed how to attach pics!

sounds interesting, i have just been out and removed aerial lead from the reciever and the remote fob still works from a good 3-4 foot from fill cap which suprised me, im not going out there again to remove the reciever as its cold and wet and im poorly, ah! poor sole.....
anyhow i did take mine apart a while ago and dont remember more than one pcb in the plastic box! il see how i get on with the aerial lead disconnected, no doublt il report back my findings!

thanks for your help guys..........

p.s. upload your pics to photobucket, imageshack or that sort of thing then copy the link for that pic from there to these pages, it then displays as a picture!

update, Tuesday evening, r/rover been left in same position since sat am, but with remote aerial disconnected from receiver, engine started fine, 3 times in quick succession! it been parked in the same place it was when the battery went flat, its not now! seems like a new reciever is on the cards!

Did they have it in stock or did you have to order it?

I shall have to get one too. The short range with no antenna is starting to get on my wick.

I too, have been getting flat battery problems of late, my gates & other stuff at 433mhz to blame, just fitted the later receiver & all is well again, & my operating range is ginormouse now:)
However at £165.00 for a 'iccle-plackie-box' seems a bit steep:(

my range is soooo much better, it was always pants, now its good. but as you say the amount of money that they charge for something that isnt as involved as a video card for a pc is such a huge rip off................

i recon its worth £45 to £55 tops
