Hi all, I am going to service my Defender in the next few weeks and wanted to know if there was any recommendation on service kits? There seems to be lots of options, but I have no experience on best brands of oil etc... Cheers, Dean

That's exactly what we did, but it is still 4 flights, if I was a pedant!!! So yes, like last year where she had to fly back for just a 20 minute chat, it is happening while we are here. You don't mess with the NHS! Thanks for the good wishes...

Sympathise re the coving. I once bought the plaster stuff as I wanted to paint over it in gloss paint. The room had a bay window with 3 panes so lots of awkward angles to cut. By the end I had inches to spare and had to make the last piece up...

I just had a brain fart with all these fe##'n adverts, is it the i phone doing it? Takes a few minutes to dodge the bleddy things.

My question was if it was a crazy idea or not. Given that he gave me factual information regarding part numbers and the subframe that means taking the next step is not a crazy idea. That answers my question. Maybe you people just can't read...

No you didn't he hasn't actually fitted it so he didn't answer your question. As I've been pretty friendly and non-dismissive towards you so far in this thread, albeit tinged with a little gentle humour, I think your answer it a little "orff"...

I just got my answer so I think that your odds are pretty funny.

Just to add to this, you don't actually need a Defender throttle pedal. Although this is what I have on my current setup. On my past Tdi Series I used the stock Series pedal and attached a stock Tdi throttle cable to the rod mechanism by the...

Actually I just got my answer 15 minutes ago. So your 1000 to 1 book is pretty funny. I should've taken the odds.

Time we opened a book on this. My odds on anyone on LZ knowing the answer to this exact question..... 1000 to 1. I reckon 157,213 to 1 assuming only one member knows the answer, and the OP will know one day. Or should that be 157,214 to 2 ❓

Thank you for actually making an effort and giving me actual information. This would have been put to bed if people had just said that they did not know and did not spend the last day and a half throwing out condescending insults. Remember...

OK, there is a tiny chance you may be right, but then again, can you be assed to wait? Time we opened a book on this. My odds on anyone on LZ knowing the answer to this exact question..... 1000 to 1. Any takers???;););)

And as I said I'm not making the trip for several months so I'm in no rush.

Ok, thanks Phill, Anaconda. Your help is very much appreciated. I suppose it will have to be sold as parts then. He probably did buy it as parts originally as he wanted to build from scratch. Either way, we just want it to go to a good home. If...

Casings appear to be the same fairly certain the rear subframes are too so the mounting points should make sense to be the same and from what I can find, the driveshafts all appear to have the same part numbers so I'd say it's worth the gamble to...

Yes I know but I saw it and since people might not have read anything before the last comments it was worth putting that comment there for others. Not for you. So basically I was not posting to you, either.
