The new chassis option is good, but an old chassis that's been blasted, repaired and galved is fine.

I have bought genuine from them before, I have a feeling that in general most aftermarket versions will probably be the same one regardless of price. All the same they might be just fine.

You may find the new reverse lights draw to much power from the rev light circuit and the bcm might shut them down, if that is the case you will need some relays, fitting lower power bulbs in place of the rev light bulbs currently fitted might...

Should be a large locking washer similar to a wheel bearing lock washer. That nut doesn't look far enough on in the photo. Welcome to the forum.

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone for your help. I'm extremely touched !☺️ As for my place of residence... I juggle between Versailles ( 78 ) and Verneuil-sur-Avre ( 27 ). So I slipped under my D2 and there's indeed a little play in...

How far on should a steering box drop arm go, there are still splines visible above the arm and the nut is flush to the bottom of the threaded area, I tried to pull it off again and it’s pretty damn on there. but it looks wrong and I don’t trust...

A landrover chassis isn't treated inside, so consequently they tend to rust away, from the inside. I can't imagine a 1970 chassis will be anywhere near in good condition unless the previous owner/s regularly treated the chassis with some form of...

I guess you are bot in the UK (?) as it's not legal to have illuminated white lights on the rear of your car, unless it's a switched reversing light... What do you mean by 'back headlights' ?

This is where the rabbit hole started as the guy I bought it off drove it once then sold it. He bought it off an elderly woman who's husband had died and couldn't face to see the car , so I have no idea what's been done, the interior is like...

Get the chassis shot blasted. Any structural rust will be exposed. The rest doesn't matter, and the pre dip pickling will take care of it.

Anaconda replied to the thread Sequence of restoration?.
That's what I asked you, I guess you could get the chassis acid dipped. If that's viable I would get that done. Depends on your weather conditions if it's worth getting it painted or galvanise it.
