I've seen this mysterious starting behaviour before. The Landy concerned had two bad segments on the the starter's commutator. This means a lottery when going for a fresh start, as it depends on where the motor stopped rotating the last time it...

Gearbox to engine nuts are 9/16". The top two are either 9/16" or 5/8".

The hole is there, but it's clogged. I think the radiator isn't original and the previous owner replaced it. And I think he made a mistake. So I'm wondering how the oil cooler water circulates if this hole is clogged.

I use one of these. Decent lenght probe makes it easy to reach awkward bits. Neilsen CT0998 3pc Mechanics Stethoscope

If by blocked you mean the hole doesn't exist on that port, then it's fine and you can leave it. The updated radiator design is supposed to be like that.

Now fair enough you might set the car on fire with a plumber torch soldering tiny wires but you can get electric soldering irons now which would be a little safer or even small gas powered ones lol.

Ooh, the next thing is listen to the engine running with what resembles a doctors stethoscope. The noise could then be almost pin pointed to an area and give you an idea of where to go next. I had a client bring a jag with the 2.7td v6 to the...

Might grab some trusty Wagos out of the van then make a better fixing. Don’t trust myself not to set the car aflame with a soldering iron.

Hello Sierrafery, I'm asking about a problem with my Discovery TD5. I have a 1999 10p engine. I've removed and cleaned my radiator. I noticed the hole coming from the oil cooler is blocked. Can I leave this setup on this model or do I need to...

Put the boards on top. Less stress on the metal work. If you done the angle iron method bet you would catch your legs on them unless you remove these after use.

Hmmm. How would you tell if the chassis was still OK? Not that you'd be bothered on selling it, if you are a dyed-in-the-wool scrote. This has got me thinking. If the running gear is still OK, i.e. bushes etc, tyres, shocks it MAY be an...
