Hello everyone! I am looking for a new chassis or rear 1/2 chassis for my Disco 1. If anyone has any recommendations it would be very much appreciated. Naturally all the ones I see online are in the UK, I’m in Ireland so if there is anyone...

The connection on the plenum is for the vacuum hose mentioned in my post #2 No idea on the other (cut) one. I'll have a look next time I'm around mine, though being a 3.5efi it might be different.

Looking at the pic the manufacturer hasn't put chf202 on the product where it lists the spec. Sellers of said product say it's for use where chf202 is required. They also use list many more spec's that the manufacturer doesn't. That always makes...

Yes indeed, it left no trace. The oil is still clear from the last change so no black trail. I did put a tell-tale there and it came away clean and dry (still is) but after tightening the cover T-bolt a bit more the seep/leak has clearly stopped.

I remember quite a while back reading about a uber-tough phone in a LR magazine they tested it to real extremes and it put up with it. Things like strapping it to a Defender wheel and going off road wiv it, floods, the lot. Made by JCB or...

Look for a griffin case. Makes the phone a bit bulky but saves damage

Direnza just buy them from the supplier that supply ebay sellers. I know this personally through my own experience. They just add their name plates to them😒

Needs to meet the correct spec in my opinion. Have a look in the owners manual for the spec. LR still sell it but only in a box of 12x 1L bottles. So most main dealers won't buy it in unless you buy the box. Mine wouldn't when I wanted some...

OK it is time to "fess-up". It was the rocker gasket after all. :) The LH screw-down T-Bolt was not as tight as the RH side one. One extra quarter turn (to match the resistance felt on the RH side one) and the leak stopped. So well done all...

It was a Nissens one from 10, maybe 12 years ago. Looking at the prices those ally Direnzo ones are near enough the same price as aftermarket. My concern is it is only 2 core and someone on here once said the Land Rover original ones were 4...

Been out for a quick blatt around town in the mini. :) It always makes me smile. Oil leak sorted it seems. :) Worried a bit about over-fuelling and bore-washing the engine, but hard to say without an AFR gauge fitted. Nearly time for afternoon...

... which is why it isn't clever to swop the lifters around!! Camshafts are fascinating things. I had a member of my club who designed his own cam and had it ground to his spec by Kent or Someone. It ran fine. I put a high torque cam in a Pinto...

Check the edge of the door is vertical with a spirit level, in the closed position and again at 90 degrees open position. This will indicate if the hinges need adjusting.

Different makes charge more as their kit is betterer. Price matching to a price point or competitor sometimes. Either was its betterer for the environment if peeps use one charger and set of batteries across multiple tools.

Buying the origional LR spec pas fluid for a FL2 ain't easy. Fuchs titan chf 202 is the same fing. Its what I use. The red you have in needs removed or you'll get problems. Change the reservour at the same time. Its got a fixed filter in the...

Nitriding or summat maybe, but they would all need to be treated or they would all wear out in nothing flat. usually heat treament, induction heating for instance. And as mentioned above they have to be run in properly with the special lubricant.
