+1. People have come across 4 pin diffs in GEMS front axles before so you might get lucky. I'd only change what I have to myself.

Original is some sort of nylon washer. A ring cut from a suitable size alkathene pipe warmed in hot water to soften enough to slip on could do the job and last some time.

I suspect previous owner(s) might have fractured number-2 glowplug in my son's TD4. The threaded part came out leaving the centre firmly in the head. The other 3 changed for new plugs, so it starts mostly ok !! Even leaving it "unclamped"...
