Hi guys
As my n/s underseat tool/battery box is just about toasted i've decided to fit a YRM one and as my 2a is a tdi the battery lives under the seat and once its done i want to carry some tools in there as well, my question is which one do i go for the one made with a battery tray or the one that doesn't have a battery tray but is deeper but still fit a battery in there and carry tools, what do you think :)

Std early alloy seat box on my s2 tdi, 069 transit battery fitted tucked right up the front, that died after 10yrs so now has an 019 battery crammed in there, has to have both terminals at the front and a thin rubber mat on top to stop an unwanted contact with the lid, if it was the steel type I would have modded it, but as alloy boxes are just all round nice I have resisted the urge to cut it.
Rest of box is crammed with jump leads and verious tools/spares.

My engine bay battery tray was removed by a previous owner and replaced with a sturdy wooden box, big enough for a large battery and a decent toolroll and various bits and bobs. The battery isnt secured in and there is no lid. Never been picked up on an mot.

Is that with the tdi fitted?

It arrived this morning but straight away when i unboxed it i realised i'd ordered the wrong one wanted the deeper one that held two batteries but ordered the shallower one that was more of a tool box rather than a battery / tool box so i will probably put this on the for sale section and order the right one :(

Them tool trays are good to hide stuff in ;)

when I got YRM battery tray for the 110 it comes in kit form. Semi built it, then stripped back down & rebuild in place on the motor.
