You know that feeling when you find a tenner in a suit pocket that you put there at the last wedding you went to a year ago....

Well I've just been clearing out the shed (the roof of which collapsed into it about 6 months ago) in order to take lots of junk to the tip etc when I came across an expensive impact socket set with short and deep sockets going right up to 40 odd mm which I'd bought about 6-7 years ago and completely forgotten about! I was stopped in my tracks yesterday by not have a deep 27mm socket but there's one in the set..... I also found a decent £100+ tap and die set which I'd also forgotten about and my emergency tool box from the old second car which we haven't had for 8 years either.

Woo hoo....... Now to get on with the Landy's rear wipe system :D

Never knowingly lost tools before -

They live in the same place in the garage ... and we're always using them ...

I have the same problem with spares that I collect, the times I have bought a part only to find one a day or two latter. The last time was a set of caliper pistons and seals then looking for brake fluid I found a genuine set in the draw in the shed

I once found a folded up tenner .. my 'emergency stash' in an old specs case!! Literally minutes before throwing the case out, along with a whole drawer full of accumulated tat .. ;)

That's my guaranteed way of finding things I know I put somewhere safe... look for it for a few days, fail to find it and buy a new one on ebay. You can guarantee that the day after I get the new one the one I knew I had will turn up in what usually transpires to be a sensible place to leave it.

Only last weekend I ended up buying a new camping stove... only to find the old one in my camping chair bag where I put it...
