X Defend Pedal Lock fitted (with Pics!)

I have put carpet on my pedal lock and it folds up with it.
Going to cut and glue it properly now I know it works... Hardly know its there with carpet on and you wont slip on the steel floor

One thing I would like is a handle of sorts to lift it from the locked position

As you can guess by my user name I know a bit about locks
An L&F rpt is a bit of a different beast to the rpt in that vid.
It's a bit like comparing a Genuine land rover component to a Britpart one.

Could you fit something to the back of it, so it presses the brake pedal when locked in position?

Would make it much more difficult to move or tow the Defender.

There must be one hell of a difference then if you are comparing it to a Britpart product. The tape on the box would present better security.

You could, just whatever you fitted would get in the way of your feet whilst driving. I've never checked. But I think mine slightly depresses the brake pedal as fitted. Will drop the handbrake tomorrow and try and roll it about in neutral.

You could weld a small piece of metal above the brake pedal attached to the lever. This would be pushed down as the cover engages. Mine applies the brakes slightly anyway when it's locked.

I would have thought constant pressure wouldn't be the best for the lines/cylinders/calipres. Especially if the brakes seize on. Can't beat that for security though I suppose!

Mines my daily drive, so not been an issue for me.

Only thing that put me off this one is the gap near the door pillar gives a very nice access point for a decent sized pry bar, posted this before and know a couple of people have had a piece stainless welded in before fitting to increase the security. Seems to be an absolutely pointless cut out as there is room on the floor for the extra steel when folded flat??

I may invest in one for the 110 but will modify it first... as you say its easier than the full metal jacket I have as that needs to sit in the back after removal

Anything is still far better than nothing though
