hi all new to this forum and new to owning a land rover and seem to have jumped in at the deep end i have currently got a 1986 D registered 90 defender with a 200tdi from a disco, lets be honest the landy is not in the best condition rear crossmember has gone both outriggers and tube mounts are shot as well as doors and complete wiring loom my plan is to make the vehicle real again (LOL) so far i have started to buy the odd bits and bobs i.e new lights/grilles/bolt kits etc soon to be purchasing the new chassis pieces and attempt to repair the doors i seem to be struggling to find a replacement wiring loom i mean ive found new looms via Autosparks, World leading supplier of classic car wiring looms but seem to be a bit pricey does anyone on here know anywhere i can get hold of looms at a decent price i need the engine loom for a 200 tdi and full bulk head loom inc fuse box and lighting loom for front lights ( rear light loom in good condition)

any help and advice would be much appreciated

thanks

steve :)

I'm not sure where else you can buy a full loom, but they are really basic.

If you have the time, then you could always buy the rolls of wire, couple fuse holders, tools and have at it. They really are that basic :)

wouldnt know where to start to be honest the wiring is in a right state the only reference i have is a wiring diagram from a haynes manual will that be good enough or is the something i can get hold of that is a bit more exact?

Seeing as my quad cam v8 90 has similar amount of wiring as a space shuttle.

Looms can be repaired, black wire is a major pain, but often heat damaged bit can be cut out and spliced.

What parts exactly need replacing?

all of it really its all been bodged with scotch blocks and them plastic block screw type connectors etc majority of wires were not connected to anything
