I need to rewire my SWB Land Rover which has Series 3 instrument pannel due to an eletrical fire. It began life as a 2.25 petrol and now has a Perkins Prima. I have obtained the main harness 2.25lt RHD Series 3 sept1 1980 - Jan 1983 PRC 2530 from my nearest parts supplier. It is a genuine Land Rover item. Unfortunatley they did not have the chassis or engine harness to go with it. From examining it it has wire for fog lamps that I don't have.

My question is will this harness fit my instrument pannel that is certainly pre 1980 and switch gear?

If I were to buy the chassis LR334 and engine harness LR324 from say Holland Rover,
WIRING HARNESSES, Land Rover Series 3,
Would it plug together, particularly the 8 pin bullet by the bulkhead, I am unable to tell because of the fire damage? Or do I need the LR301 / 575373?

Is the tow bar harness Part No: LR339 worth getting, currently the trailer socket is scotch locked in, its a bit of a mess and I would like to make it a better job and not have to cut in to the new one?

Any help would be appreciated.

better than MHMs ?

Apparently they don't come in pink so obviously not?

Hehe. I don't know, I have seen pictures of Autosparks looms and the quality does look brilliant. However, I have not seen any pictures of Daft's looms. I suspect they are extremely good quality... Should be for how much he charges

that's very reasonable for the amount of effort and expensive required to DIY - whereas looking at their prices for the chassis and engine looms i'd suggest you'd be better off buying the correct gauge and color wire and making it up yourself as there's very little to them, the same goes for the towing plug extension wiring
