wiring a 300tdi defender using a TD5 wiring loom without the ecu

hi,

i am tried to wire up a 300tdi in to my old defender 90, i have decide to upgrade the wiring and have fitted a full td5 wiring loom to the chassis, bulkhead and i am looking at the engine currently. i am wondering if anyone has done this before and know how to by pass the ecu to make everything work any help would be much appreciated
