wiper motor fecked!

I have a knackered wiper motor, does not park wipers, i drilled out the rivets on the motor, found that the park connectors were burned out and the plastic park area of the copper ring if all worn out. I bought what was described as a freelander wiper motor off fleabay, it arrived but is a valero unit with a totally different connector plug. does anyone know if this valero unit was fitted to freelanders as i cant seem to find any info on it. and can i convert wiring to allow it to run in my freelander. or have i been ripped off by mr. nice guy on fleabay.?

As you've had the top off the old one you have seen how it works.
If the new one has the same no. of connectors and fits straight into the FL (mechanically) it may be adaptable.
Or send it back "item not as described" - the choice is yours.

Don't know if they did change the motor type during the run of the FL.

Can we have a photo of the strange replacement motor for reference? Just incase others end up buying one of these.

just done mine got it from dealer 140 pounds took about 30mins to fit

here is pic of dodgy looking item, mechanically it fits, but wires and plug are completely different.

get yourself down to the main dealers hard to see if its right from pic

yes, i will have to bite the bullet and buy new £140 and me scottish, not gong down well.

What year is your car? Ive got a unit out in the garage that i removed from my 03 td4. I removed the whole shabang, motor and linkage from mine due to failure of the ball joints on the linkage but the motor was working fine. I was keepin it for spare but you can have it for say.......35 quid including postage if you like.

Yep maynelander thats the one. I see you had mentioned that you had drilled out rivets etc on old unit but i take it you want me just to unbolt motor assembly from linkage (as mentioned earlier the linkage is knackered). PM me with your address etc and i'll get it boxed on way to you.
