window rubbers

Hi, just done a search but no result. What can be done about split window rubbers.There seems to be a lot of discos with the problem, Can black silicone sealant be pushed into them and trimmed or is there something else that needs to be done.

You could use black silicone or you could just replace the seals

Or like the nice person did to mine. Cover the whole feckin car with clear silicon. Could float in it and it wouldn't leak.....mind you cant open me sunroofs now though

I would rather replace the rubbers if its easy enough to do. Is it a lot of expense, or is it a cheapish DIY job?

check yer insurance cover, if it doesnt affect yer no claims or excess accidently put a brick through it and get a nice clean new one installed
